The Basics ~
Name: Allana (Irish, meaning rock) Bernadette (her grandmother's name) Finnigan
Age: Sixteen
Gender: Female
Year: Sixth
Bloodline: Half-blood
House/Position: Slytherin Student
Played By: Cristina Scabbia
Inside and Out ~
Appearance:
Ever since she was a little girl, Allana has been told that she looks like her mother. And ever since she was a little girl, Allana has denied this. She has always been small and petite, currently standing at just 5"3', but she still upholds the ability to run very, very fast.
Her hair, originally light brown in colour, was changed black in her fourth year by an older friend who wanted to practice for an upcoming transfiguration exam. She doesn't tend to style in a lot, if she's feeling daring she might wear it up but that's about it. She does wear some of make-up however, eye shadow, lipstick etc. although she's not scared to go without it if she really doesn't feel like putting it on in the morning. Her complexion is naturally fairly pale, but when's the last time it was sunny in England?
As far as dress sense goes, Allana is strange. If she knows she's just going to have a casual day, lounging around the house or the common room, she'll stick to a t-shirt and jeans. But other days she likes to dress in corset, black dresses, shirts and occasionally leather to maintain a slightly gothic look.
Personality:
When Allana was a baby, she never cried. Well, she did to a certain extent. All babies cry. But Allana would only cry when she desperately needed something. If she was starving hungry, or her nappy had been full for hours. But she didn't cry nearly as much as other babies. Her parents even took her to see a baby specialist at St. Mungo's but no, everything was fine. She just didn't cry much.
They may or may not be related, but to this day Allana doesn't like to ask for help. She has always been independent, almost to the point of foolishness. When she was seven, she broke her leg trying to retrieve a quaffle from a tree, even though her father would have happily got it down for her. When she was ten, she turned down her mother's offer for help and made her own dinner one night, resulting in the house almost catching fire.
Another side to her personality is the fact that she loves to tease people. She acts like she knows something they don't and continues until their literally begging for her to tell them something that they already know anyway. She'll let on that someone has something embarrassing on their face when they actually don't, so that they will spend ages running their hand over their face and hunting for a mirror. The truth is she likes to feel like she's in control, like she has all the power, be it friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, crushes, enemies or simply casual acquaintances. She wants people to feel like she's the one who knows what's going on, even if she doesn't.
Allana has one person in life, Don't help someone unless you feel they deserve to be helped or you might benefit from it. Similarly, don't harm people unless you feel they deserve to be harmed or you might benefit from it. She is very quick to judge people and will only help someone or attempt to be their friend if they give off a good first impression. Of course, some people are hard to judge at first, and some people's first impressions are wrong so her opinion of you may change, but only if something drastic happens. If she doesn't like what she sees at first then she'll probably ignore you as much as possible, unless you wrong her in which case she will go to fairly long lengths to get her revenge.
As far as sexuality goes, Allana appears to be pretty much androgynous, likeing who she likes and never confirming herself to a label. In reality, Allana doesn't really know what way she swings and it changes almost every day, so she has decided to just go with the flow until she eventually figures it out. Her relationships mostly last either a week or two or anything from months to years; she believes she can tell what a relationship is going to be like just from the first week of it. Although she has been knows occasionally to flirt a little bit to get her way, she is incredibly loyal and committed when it comes to a relationship, be it friendship or otherwise, and this occasionally leads to her being a little bit clingy.
Her taste in music is strange. Most of the bands she listens to are muggle bands, as she believes most wizard bands are generally awful. Since she was around eleven she has been listening to death metal, black metal, thrash metal, power metal, doom metal, stoner metal and a little bit of classical music. With there being little to no electricity in the muggle world, however, having access to this music isn't easy. She got her mother to enchant a CD player to work without any power (she insisted she could have done it herself if it weren't for the under-age magic laws) but most CDs cost muggle money and her house-mates would complain if she played it in the dorm so most of the time she would have to stick to The Weird Sisters, who in her opinion aren't very good.
Allana occasionally plays Quidditch with her family in various positions and supports Ireland and the Kenmare Kestrels, like her Dad.
History: It was the nineteenth of March, 2014. It would have been Joy Ramone's sixty-third birthday, should he have still been alive. Christina Warbeck had just put out an other album and Finland won the Quidditch World Cup semi-final against New Zeland. But none of that mattered to Lavender Finnigan, who was currently giving in the maternity ward of St. Mungo's hospital, or Seamus Finnigan, who was being screamed up by his suffering wife. After four long hours of labour, Allana Benadette Finnigan was born.
Allana's childhood was a fairly normal one. She fought with her siblings, argued with her parents and went in a huff whenever she couldn't get what she wanted. She was a healthy mix of tom-boy and girly-girl, trying on her mother's best dresses and lipstick and then going outside to play in the mud and ruin them. As sending her to a muggle school was far too risky as she probably had magical powers, her parents taught her the basics of reading and writing at home. English she always enjoyed, but maths not so much. To this day she has no idea what a square root is, and doesn't understand why anyone, even a muggle, would need to.
Although her parents were always sure she would grow up to be a witch, her first hint of magical talent didn't show until she was six, when her mother was trying to brush the tugs out of Allana's hair, much to her annoyance, and the hairbrush melted in Lavender's hand. From a young age she would play Qudditch his her father and sibling in the garden, although she always preferred to muck about on the broom rather than actually play the game. One day when she was five she got stuck on the roof of the house and consistently refused her father's help. In the end he had to force her onto the broomstick to get her down.
Allana was secretly terrified when she got her first Hogwarts letter at the age of eleven. Although she never admitted it, she really didn't want to have to leave her parents for almost a year. But once she sat on that train and waved them off through the window she was fine. She was pleased with the house she was sorted into and made a few friends, not to mention enemies. She excelled in the classes she was interested in; charms, potions, history of magic and transfiguration, and didn't do so well in the one's she found useless; astronomy, herbology and defence against the dark arts; why would anyone need to know about Cornish Pixies for crying out loud?
It was in her third year that Allana began to change. She began to notice boys (and girls) in different way, and her view on many topics changed. She started to wonder whether she would fight for the side of good, like her parents, or remain neutral. She even considered joining Calderact, after all, that would give her power, and although she wasn't a pureblood supremacist she did think that the ministry did some stupid thing sometimes. She took up muggle studies and ancients ruins, although she never really enjoyed the latter.
By her fifth year she had had twenty-six detentions and been in eighteen major fights, either physical or verbal. She got three O lever OWLs in charms, potions and history of magic, one E level OWL in transfiguration and two A level OWLs in muggle studies and DADA. The rest she failed because, quite frankly, she couldn't be bothered with. She was surprised she's scrapped a pass in DADA as a matter of fact.
