Inside and Out ~
Appearance: James is a well-groomed individual, from his nicely-combed, light brown hair to his immaculate robes. He is fairly well-built and has a handsome visage, with piercing brown eyes to accentuate his hair. Since he is half-blood, James has no problem wearing Muggle clothing if necessary, and actually finds it quite comfortable. On his left hand is a silver watch; a family heirloom, so he rarely takes it off.
Personality: In a nutshell, James is a very cool, level-headed individual. He's witty and sarcastic as well, so it would behoove those in contact with him not to get him started. Of course, it's not a highly abrasive sarcasm, because James is a very good-hearted individual. He is deeply sympathetic to the plights of others, and always tries to help people, as long as they are willing to help themselves as well.
James is a very good judge of character, to a degree, and can usually ascertain a person's true nature by close study. In complete opposition to that, he is an exceedingly hard person to figure out, as he doesn't enjoy revealing much of himself to others, and plays things relatively close to the vest.
History: James was around since before Voldemort was defeated the first time, and as a result, his family had a very real fear of the man, and of any Death Eaters, even those allegedly innocent and under the Imperius Curse. James was not nearly as fearful though. He found a way to deal with it...and that way was to become an Auror.
It is his honor to have Harry Potter as a subordinate, but he does not make a big fuss about it as most people would. It's not in his nature to make a fuss of things, or a fuss over people. Internally though, he does have a deep respect for Harry, and for what he's gone through in order to make the Wizarding world safe.
Unmarried and without children or parents (both are deceased), James lives a fairly lonely existence. It was while he wandered in London at some point that he came across a beast of a dog, skinny and weak. The animal was no more than a puppy, although at the time he couldn't tell. Worried for it, albeit surprised that it had gone unnoticed, he took the dog in, with the intention of nursing it back to health, then giving it to a Muggle humane society.
That wasn't quite how it went. Upon evaluation, he realized that the dog was a pup, and in the little time he spent with the dog, he found himself enchanted by him as he gained more and more strength. Eventually, he decided he would keep the dog as a pet, and has christened him Jakobi.
