Short Synapsis ~ If you would not like to read the entire in-depth plot, here's what you need to know:
Things have calmed down since the years of the Golden Trio, and they are now grown, with children of their own attending Hogwarts. All seemed well, until during a mission investigating one of the recent reports of an attack, Harry Potter found himself face to face with a man who was the very image of his brother: Calderact, sibling to Voldemort, who had been hiding in the shadows so to speak as his brother did all of the work.
Now, he's revealed himself, and plans to start where his brother left off. It is said he is even more cruel and cunning than the previous Dark Lord, and things have taken a turn for the worse once again. With the second ever mass break out from Azkaban, Death Eaters new and old have escaped, and joined their old Master's brother.
Where will things go from here? Who's side will you be on? Find out in this world which seems to be trapped, in an Unending Darkness.
Full Plot ~ This has all the details:
On the morning after the battle of Hogwarts, Harry Potter, the boy who lived, the chosen one laid to rest the evil Lord Voldemort; putting a definite end to his reign of terror that swept over the Wizarding World like a dark tidal wave, destroying all that stood in its path. But in the midst of the joyous celebrations and confusion of post battle trauma, one event went unnoticed. Somewhere on Hogwarts grounds, the unfamiliar sight of a Seer prophesising took the few injured Death Eaters and Hogwarts students by surprise: Cybil Trelawney dropped a figurative bomb upon the wizarding world once more.
"One cannot live while the other survives. On this morning of jubilation, one remains, one still resides within the darkness. Children of light, take flight, and vanquish thy foe; restore purity within this land and lay to rest the unending darkness!"
It's been many years since, without event of course. What happened was not publicised in anyway; the ministry of magic has a knack for covering up things that they don't want others to know. Head of Aurror Office, Harry Potter, and Second in Command, Ronald Wealsey, recently returned from a week long conflict on the Cornish coast, quelling a small uprising of "Old Faithful" as they are now called, or Voldemort supporters who refuse to believe their Lord is gone, and is only in hiding once more. Aurrors are now undercover around the country protecting Muggles and Wizards alike from the new threat. But just as things started to calm down, the second ever breakout from Azkaban occurred, and Death Eaters, old and new, escaped.
With a mass breakout of this stature one would expect mass destruction and countless murder and disaster. This however was not the case. Since the time of the breakout, there has been no report of anything. No sightings, no death, no disaster.
One day, in August...
Many months after the Azkaban breakout, the Dark Mark appeared over a house just off the Cornish Coast, not too far away from the area Harry and Ron investigated the "Old Faithful" incident. Not one to chance anything, Harry headed a team of Aurrors, and apparated to the scene as soon as the report reached his ears. He found nothing but a cottage that had been gutted by dark magic, and a man who stood alone upon the higher level of the cottage. The roof was completely blown off, and the front of the cottage decimated.
The man was the picture of his older brother. Pallid skin, snake like eyes and a skeletal figure. Draped in a black robe and carrying a wand of pure ivory, the man spoke but two words: "Harry Potter."
With that, Harry's scar exploded with pain for the first time since the Battle of Hogwarts. He'd forgotten how badly it had hurt. Unable to control the pain, Harry let out a frightening scream and fell to his knees, clutching his scar.
"Who are you?" He shouted across the clearing, where the shell of the cottage stood. The man disappeared, and reformed infront of Harry faster than he had ever seen anyone move. Frightened, the team of Aurrors retreated a few steps, leaving Harry and the cloaked figure alone in the middle of the clearing. Harry drew his wand, but was disarmed before he'd even gotten a handle on it. He was left upon his knees in front of his team as the man approached. Many of his men drew their own wands, but were disarmed just as quickly. Bewildered, the team and its leader remained frozen, stunned. The man came to stand before Harry, and slowly leaned down. He whispered a single word in the Hero's ear, and disappeared, leaving nothing but a wisp of black smoke in his place.
Upon arriving back at the ministry, Harry sent an urgent letter out to the remaining Order members, informing them of what had happened. They did not share his interest in confronting this new threat, and many even didn't believe him. They didn't want to become involved in what may not even affect them in their lifetime, and many refused to become directly involved. And so Harry had not but one option left. It was the Next Generation who would have to protect what they held dear.
Harry arrived at Hogwarts the next day to have a meeting with the current Head. After much discussion it was decided that he would remain at Hogwarts as the Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher. The very idea that there may be someone out there ready to bring down Hogwarts made Harry sick, and so he knew a new order had to be established. At the end of the meeting, the Head asked Harry the name of this new threat as he left the office. The man paused in the doorway, and turned to look over his shoulder, saying not but the one word the man had spoken to him on that August day.
"Calderact." He answered.
Fear filled the Head's eyes, and he was behind his desk in a hurry. Harry hesitated in the doorway, watching as the man pulled an envelope out of the desk. It was addressed to Harry, and signed by Dumbledore himself. He handed it to Harry, who opened it immediately. It was full of information related to Voldemort, but on the top was the most important component: A letter from Dumbledore revealing to Harry that Voldemort had a younger brother. A brother, named Calderact.
Now with Hogwarts as his new base of operations, Harry plans to recruit a New Order, but it will not be of just experienced adults. He plans for the students of Hogwarts to be prepared for this battle, unlike last time, when they were caught by surprise. He was sure Calderact would not leave the next generation out of this fight, and he was going to make sure they were ready to fight. He would train them himself if he had to, but they would be ready.
With this new discovery, and the return of some of Hogwarts greatest son's and daughter's, will the next generation rise to defend? Or will Calderact's reign begin?
The answer determines whether we truly will remain trapped, in an Unending Darkness.
